Buttered Envelopes?

Flying First Class For Fifty Cents
The USPS unveiled their Five Year Business Plan entitled "Plan to Profitability". Under this plan we can expect to shell out 50 cents for every sweepstakes entry we mail, if the proposal takes effect. Of course, many of us sweepers are like squirrels, hoarding our collection of "forever stamps" like walnuts for the long winters of postage stamp increases. But, does it makes sense to purchase all these forever stamps since sweepstakes with a mail-in entry option becoming fewer and farther between? Possibly. Let's say that there is a sweepstakes with three methods of entry-online, text, and mail-in. Most people will probably enter via online or text, with a much smaller portion entering by mail, especially if postage costs half a buck for an entry to be mailed (unless you were one of the aforementioned fiscally savvy squirrels)!
Entry Pool Example:
Online: 45%
Text: 45%
Mail: 10%
At this point, it's all speculation on how entries are drawn. It depends entirely on each judging agency. Do they assign a specific number to all entries and then draw a winner, not so good for the snail mailer, or do they they choose a third of entries by each method of entry, hooray! for the snail mailer-smart move squirrel! Be smart, read the official rules. Weigh your options for entering sweepstakes by mail when there are other modes of entry. Think smart and win often!

Taco Bell Unlock The Frustration-PS VITA
I was reading a post by Tyler Schirado at GameRant about the PS VITA promotion Taco Bell is sponsoring and how easy it was to win a prize by simply copying the winning URL extension and texting it. Hopefully Taco Bells get's this corrected and sends the cheaters scuttling home without a coveted PS VITA prize. Read more of Tyler's post.

Cheers, California Sweepers-Prohibiton May Soon Be Over!
A new bill is going through the California legislature that could effectively end the ban on alcoholic beverage makers' sweepstakes for the state. The time has come for sweepers in California to uncork, er, uncap your Sharpie, pick up a phone and call, email emotionally with emoticons, or go see your assemblymen in person and let your voice be heard.
Bill Information:
SB 778
How to locate your Representative:

May we all, very soon, raise a glass of Chardonnay and toast our fellow Californian sweepers, waving that "all-expenses-paid trip" affidavit from Gallo.
Cheers!

Never forget another event again with Google Calendar
If you enter sweepstakes that have restrictions, such as one entry per week, month, quarter, etc, it can be hard to remember when you last entered. I rely on my Google calendar for reminders now. It's very easy to use. Let's say, for example, that I find a great weekly sweepstakes, cool! I don't want to miss out on this one! I open my calendar, click create event, add whatever information I want into the calendar, I usually just add the link I need for the sweepstakes in that field. There is also an area for notes, etc. I choose when I want to be reminded, the frequency I want to be reminded, and when I want this series to conclude. With my Google Calendar , I never miss entering restricted sweepstakes anymore, and I win more prizes that I really want! Try it for yourself; best of all it's free!

"You Can Get It If You Really Want"
I often find myself singing aloud, or, as it may be, humming, if anyone is within earshot, per my vocal coach's advice, Jimmy Cliff's "You Can Get It If You Really Want" while entering sweepstakes, or just about anytime the mood engages me to let loose and belt out those positively rhapsodic lyrics. Whether sitting at my computer, my chunky fingers somewhat nimbly typing on the keyboard, clack, clack, clack, clickety, clack, clack..., scanning a QR code into my smartphone at Victoria's Secret, "Uh, ma'am, I'm really not a pervert, I'm just entering this sweepstakes, see, look, don't call security", texting special codes to well-loved sponsors via SMS, or gasp!, actually sitting at my sweepstakes office/closet-think Virgina Woolf's "A Room of One's Own", hand writing entries and envelopes to be delivered by the good old USPS, Jimmy Cliff is with me.
Future posts on my site will include:
- Posting sweepstakes that i find interesting
- News about this wonderful hobby
- Methods of entering sweepstakes
- Surveys-I value your opinion
- Essays and musings of well, about me and sweepstakes, of course!
With literally thousands of sweepstakes being offered, i know that if i try, try and try, I'll succeed at last.
I know you will too!
